The horror event of the Spring, Tarot, hit theaters and scared the crap out of audiences. Now, this Summer, it’s heading to Blu-ray and DVD on July 9th. If you missed out on Tarot in theaters, here’s a bit of a synopsis.

When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings – never use someone else’s deck – they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death to escape the future foretold in their readings.

It was written and directed by Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg. It stars Harriet Slater, Adain Bradley, Avantika, Wolfgang Novogratz, Humberly González, Larsen Thompson, and Jacob Batalon.

Special Features Of Tarot On Blu-ray And DVD

  • A Twist of Fate: Making the Film
  • Circle of Friends
  • Killer Outtakes

Here’s what we had to say about Tarot in our review.

Each of the Major Arcana villains is designed really well. I appreciate the extra creepy edge and the use of practical effects vs CGI for the entire creature creation. In the trailer, we’ve seen The Fool, The Empress, and a hint at the Hanged Man as well as the Magician. Tarot is PG-13. So, you don’t have to worry about incredibly gruesome death scenes. That said, the implication of what’s happened (even though you don’t see it) is still pretty brutal and creative.
